Chief Umeh told Ekwunife that is defection to APC is a big error

The former National Chairman of the All

Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and
Anambra Central Senatorial candidate of the
party, Chief Victor Umeh, on Sunday said the
defection of Senator Uche Ekwunife to the All
Progressives Congress (APC) was in pursuant
of the party’s ticket ahead of the re-run election
in the district.
Umeh said Ekwunife’s defection is a crass
ignorance of the laws of the land.
He stated this in Onueke, Ezza South Local
Government Area of Ebonyi State while
speaking with newsmen during a civic reception
organised for Governor Dave Umahi by the Ezza
Ezekunna Clan.
An Appeal Court in Enugu had on December 6,
2015, nullified the election of Ekwunife on
grounds of irregularities and ordered the INEC
to conduct a fresh election within 90 days in
the zone following a petition brought before it
by Umeh.
But Ekwunife last Friday announced her
defection from the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP), the party under which she contested the
annulled election, to the APC ahead of the re-
run.
