Why Team Nigeria wore tracksuits to 2016 Rio Olympics opening ceremony
Team Nigeria marched with tracksuits at the opening ceremony of this year’ s Olympic Games , because the official kits did not arrive in Rio on time.
According to Alexander Wolff , a Sports writer covering the Games , “ Nigeria , marching in sweats because official outfits didn ’ t make it to Rio . Can we agree that they ’ re a country to pull for these two weeks?”
This follows a trend set by the men’ s football team , the Dream Team VI, who touched down in Manaus , Brazil just seven hours before their opening game against Japan .
Nigeria ’ s preparation for the competition , has been riddled with logistic and financial challenges
