Today's piece From Pastor Michael Henks(The poison called unforgiveness)
Title:- The poison called unforgiveness!
Author:- Pastor Michael Henks
Unforgiveness is the worst crime any man can ever commit against himself and against the nature of God in him, it is like a self administered poison which kills at a slow pace, it harms both the spirit, soul and the body.
It is like a coal of fire in the bosom of the bearer which is suicidal, for when some one hurts you and you decided never to forgive, you have automatically given the person the right to continuously hurt you all your life.
Each time you see him even from a distance the wound becomes fresh and the exact pain you felt, the first time comes rushing back in full force to torment you, your heart beat increases raising your blood pressure which helps in shortening your life span eventually leading to untimely death, while the other party is carefree, it has effect of no sort on the them.
Unforgiveness hurts you in many ways that you can't begin to imagine possible; physically it sickens you as I earlier explained and spiritually it disturbs the presence of the spirit of God in you whose temple you are, it also piles up your sins for your unforgiveness towards men attracts God's unforgiveness towards you, remember the Lord's prayer? "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespassed against us" But pastor, how do I go about it, he really hurt me so much?.
The key to forgiving some one that did hurt you is to remember how much God forgave you, to remember that your sin against Him cost Him His only son.
How then can you not forgive a person that hurt you a little when God has forgiven you much? Realizing the love and forgiveness of God will help guide you towards making the right decision, please dearly beloved do not let some one else's ignorance cost you more than you can afford or willing to loose, please let it go knowing the risks it poses to your life and let God handle it His own way, for vengeance is His! God bless you.
