2017 Hyundai Elantra SR Turbo on sale in Australia from $28,990
The sporty 2017 Hyundai Elantra SR Turbo has officially launched in Australia, starting at $28,990 plus on-road costs.
Sitting atop the Elantra range, the SR Turbo borrows its turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine from the Veloster SR Turbo, producing 150kW of power and 265Nm of torque.
Buyers have the choice of a six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) – which adds steering-mounted paddle shifters.
Headlining features include a sports body kit, larger front brakes, 17-inch alloy wheels, HID bi-xenon headlights, multi-link rear suspension with Australian-specific tuning, perforated leather upholstery with heated front sports seats, power sunroof, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Safety kit is taken care of with six airbags, blind spot monitoring, lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
The SR Turbo also comes in three exclusive colours; Sparkling Metal, Phoenix Orange and Blazing Yellow. The only options are metallic/mica paint ($495) and an eye-catching red leather trim ($295).
