Actor Idris Elba is currently in Thailand learning to fight Mui Thai

Actor and notable James Bond non-candidate Idris Elba is adding another string to his bow: kickboxer. Because Elba didn’t prove to be terrifying enough as the titular detective in four series of Luther, the British actor has fulfilled his “lifelong ambition” of becoming a professional fighter in a new factual series.

Fighter, his new series, follows Elba on his physical and mental journey training to become a professional kickboxer.

The three-part documentary series will be released on Discovery in early 2017 and promises to shed light on Elba as a person, rather than an actor or international DJ. Here are a few images of Elba at boxing training camp Buakaw Banchamek in Thailand.
